💡 Vendor Tips — Profit Simulation
  • Model pessimistically. Run your numbers at 2% conversion before you feel good about them. If 2% still shows a profit, you're in a strong position.
  • Foot traffic ≠ customers. Not everyone who walks past your table stops. Not everyone who stops buys. Conversion rate accounts for both of those filters.
  • Your first con at a new event is a data collection run. Track actual foot traffic and actual sales so you have real numbers for next year's simulation.
  • Bigger cons aren't always better. A 50,000 person con with 300 artist alley tables may convert worse than a 10,000 person con with 40 tables where attendees are actively looking for merch.
